English actor Hugh John Mungo Grant was born on September 9, 1960. Early in his career, he made a name for himself as an endearing and vulnerable romantic lead; later, he became a serious character actor.

He has won a Volpi Cup, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe, and an Honorary César among many other honours. In total, his films have made close to US$3 billion as of 2018. Grant was named one of Britain’s Greatest Actors of All Time by Time Out magazine in 2022.

Hogarth Primary School in Chiswick served as Grant’s first educational stop before he transferred to St. Peter’s Primary School in Hammersmith and then to the independent preparatory school Wetherby School in Notting Hill.

He attended Hammersmith’s Latymer Upper School, a direct grant grammar school, from 1969 to 1978. He received a scholarship to attend school while participating in first XV rugby, cricket, and football.

Additionally, he represented Latymer Upper in the academic tournament Top of the Form, which had two teams of four secondary school students each.
