Paredes joined Roma on a temporary basis on July 19, 2014, with the option to buy outright from Boca Juniors. Paredes made his Roma debut on September 27, 2014, as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona. Paredes scored his first goal for Roma in the club’s 2-1 victory over Cagliari on February 8, 2015. Roma signed Paredes for €6.067 million in June 2015.
