In Long Island, New York, Norman Blumenthal, a longtime producer of the children’s programme Wonderama and the vintage TV game show Concentration, passed away on September 23 from multiple organ failure. He was 97.
This Monday, the Long Island newspaper Newsday published the first account of his demise. He was a Long Islander who lived in West Hempstead.

According to anonymous sources, Norman died as a result of Multiple Organ Failure.
Blumenthal, a native of Brooklyn, served briefly in the Navy during World War II before enrolling in the Brooklyn Museum Art School.
He immediately found employment with commercial art firms before becoming the assistant art director at Esquire magazine, according to Newsday.
His television career began with the Winky Dink and You children’s programme on CBS in the 1950s. He is credited with helping to develop the idea for NBC’s Concentration, a memory game based on a sizable rebus puzzle, as he enjoys solving puzzles.
Norman continued to work on the programme throughout its initial 15-year run, producing episodes and developing riddles for both the TV version and the well-known Milton Bradley board games.
