Actor Bill Treacher, who portrayed Arthur Fowler on EastEnders, passed away at the age of 92. His co-stars paid tribute to him and called him “the life and soul of the set.”
The seasoned actor performed in the BBC soap from 1985 to 1996 and was a founding member of the ensemble.

After enduring a prolonged period of deteriorating health, he passed away late on Saturday night.

“The family of the actor Bill Treacher are heartbroken to announce that Bill passed away late Saturday night, 5 November 2022,” read a statement from his survivors.

Treacher lived in Suffolk for a considerable amount of time with his wife, the Australian actress Katherine Kessey, and their two children.

He claimed in 2015 that he had ataxia, a condition that can impair speech, balance, and coordination.
When his unstable character was imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, Treacher continued to appear in EastEnders until 1996.
He was freed after getting a blow to the head during a violent altercation, but at his cherished allotment, he later suffered a cerebral haemorrhage.
The Fowler family was devastated when he passed away in the hospital.
