He had originally committed to play collegiate football at the University of Arizona, but he later changed his mind and chose the University of Florida.
In 2014, Tabor participated in each of Florida’s 12 games as a true freshman and made five starts for head coach Will Muschamp.
He had 31 tackles, an interception, and two sacks at the end of the season. After Muschamp left, Jim McElwain would take over as Tabor and the Gators’ head coach prior to the 2015 season. He started nine out of the 13 games he played in as a sophomore in 2015, and as a result of his 39 tackles, four interceptions, and one sack, he was named to the first team of the SEC.
