At Ole Miss, he played collegiate football. He is Terrence Metcalf’s son, a former guard in the NFL.
Metcalf participated in the first two games of the 2016 season as a freshman at Ole Miss before suffering a foot injury that caused his season to end. After his injury, a redshirt was issued to him.
He had two receptions for a total of 14 yards, both of which were for touchdowns. He hauled in 39 passes for 646 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017. Metcalf recorded 26 receptions for 569 yards in the 2018 season before suffering a neck injury that ended his season against Arkansas.
