He accumulated more than 3,000 and 2,000 total yards as a senior and junior, respectively. Kirk was a five-star recruit and one of the best athletes in his class, per Rivals.com. He pledged to play football for Texas A&M University in college.
He was chosen that year as the overall fifth wide receiver.
In the Cardinals’ season-opening loss to the Washington Redskins, Kirk had a four-yard grab, two punt returns for 44 net yards, and two punt receptions. He played well in the Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears (16-4) with seven receptions for 90 yards.
