Asiasi played high school football at Concord’s De La Salle High School on both offence and defense.
He was born in San Mateo, California, and grew up in the Shoreview neighbourhood. During his senior year, he ended with 49 tackles, five pass breakups, and four sacks on defence in addition to 17 receptions for 311 yards and five touchdowns on offence.
In 2016, he took part in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
He received a four-star rating from ESPN.com, Rivals.com, and Scout.com. ESPN ranked him as the third-best tight end in the 2016 entering class of college football and the No. 44 overall athlete in the ESPN 300.
