Where did Sauce Gardner go to high school?
Gardner attended Detroit, Michigan’s Martin Luther King High School. In high school, he was a cornerback and wide receiver.
Prior to his senior year in 2018, 247Sports ranked Gardner as one of the top 5 players in his class in the state of Michigan. Gardner caught four catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns in the Division 3 State Final.

At the age of six, Gardner earned the moniker “Sauce”[a] from a youth football coach owing to his prowess on the pitch.
The name was inspired by his love of dipping sauces. He collaborated with the sports bar company Buffalo Wild Wings in 2022 to promote the “Sauce sauce,” a brand-new sweet and sour barbecue sauce.
