The well-known Jarran Kentrel Reed is an American football defensive end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He played college football at Alabama and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Reed attended East Mississippi Community College in 2012 and 2013. Reed helped lead his team to a win in the NJCAA national championship during the 2013 season. In Reed’s time with East Mississippi Community College he was credited with 100 career stops, including 10.5 tackles for loss. Before 2014, Reed transferred to the University of Alabama.
On March 16, 2020, Reed signed a two-year, $23 million contract extension with the Seahawks. In Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills, Reed sacked quarterback Josh Allen 2.5 times during the 44–34 loss. In the Wild Card Round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Rams, Reed sacked Jared Goff two times during the 30–20 loss. Reed was released after the season on March 26, 2021.
