In three different runs—from 1992 to 2005, from 2009 to 2015, and beginning in 2022—he has played the guitar and shared lead vocals with the rock band Blink-182, which he co-founded. His singing voice is distinctly nasal.
He founded Angels & Airwaves in 2005 after his first departure from Blink-182; he serves as both the main singer and guitarist for the rock band.
