Her mother Jane, an author and entrepreneur from the United States, created the company Trendera. Her best-known works are the “The Modern Girl’s Guide to Life” book series and the corresponding television series.
On March 12, 2019, Jane was detained after becoming embroiled in a controversy involving college admissions bribery. She sent $50,000 to the Key Worldwide Foundation, a company that provides college counselling, without her son Jack’s knowledge or permission.
This was done in order to set up Jack to take the ACT under a proctor’s supervision.
She was given a sentence of 21 days in jail, a $40,000 fine, and a year of probation on October 23, 2019.
