Roger Allam, a British actor, was born on October 26, 1953. He has been on stage, in films, on television, and on the radio.
He played Inspector Javert in the inaugural London production of the stage musical Les Misérables as well as DCI Fred Thursday in the television series Endeavour and First Officer Douglas Richardson in the critically acclaimed radio drama Cabin Pressure.
He is also well-known for his performances as Royalton in Speed Racer, Lewis Prothero in V for Vendetta, Illyrio Mopatis in Game of Thrones, and Peter Mannion MP in The Thick of It.
Having had six nominations, he has won three Laurence Olivier Awards.

Roger and Rebecca’s two children are named William and Thomas. William has chosen to pursue an acting career in the same manner as his parents.
William was inspired by his parents’ career choice in addition to the fact that he co-starred in ITV’s Endeavour with them.
In the seventh season of the historical drama, Rebecca played Mrs Hazel Radowicz, while William portrayed Gary, who is killed off in the episode.
