When did Coolio release Gangsta’s Paradise? Watch official music video

On August 1, 1963, Artis Leon Ivey Jr. was born. Coolio later relocated from his native Monessen, Pennsylvania to Compton, California, where he enrolled in the local community college.

In order to kick his crack addiction and achieve a brighter future, Coolio, a juvenile offender, and crack addict chose to volunteer as a firefighter and take a job as security at the Los Angeles airport.
He then used music as a means of escape from his issues.

When did Coolio release Gangsta’s Paradise?

For the film Dangerous Minds, Coolio released “Gangsta’s Paradise,” his most well-known hit, in 1995.
It held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and was often played on MTV and radio.
The next year, “Gangster’s Paradise” helped inspire “Amish Paradise,” one of “Weird Al” Yankovic’s most well-known parody songs, and won Coolio a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
