Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin, a Brazilian actress who was born on June 2, 1979, is best known for her roles as Inara Serra in the science fiction series Firefly and the movie Serenity, Vanessa in the superhero comedy Deadpool, Jessica Brody in the Showtime series Homeland, Dr Leslie “Lee” Thompkins in the Fox series Gotham, and Elena Federova in the NBC series The Endgame.
She was nominated in 2013 for an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Primetime Emmy Award for Homeland.
