Storm struggled to establish himself on the European Tour at first, and got work at a local cake factory during the off-season to help fund his early years as a professional.
Throughout 2004, he won two events on the second-tier Challenge Tour, finishing fourth in the end-of-season standings and earning automatic promotion back to the European Tour for 2005. That season, he took a significant leap forward by ranking 31st on the European Tour Order of Merit.
